Bill was the biggest stalwart of Wairoa Athletic Sports Club, he literally built the place. He played a huge part in the club's story and this is why we are lucky enough to have what we have today. That's why we decided to name our club weekend after him!
FRIDAY NIGHT
Bill Meek's Friday Night Squash Relay Competition
Mercantile takes a break, instead we will have a team relay challenge!
WHEN: 5.15pm - 10.30pm on Friday 22 May
WHERE: Bayleys Athletic Park Squash Courts
Teams will consist of 3 players. We will use the Mercantile ranking system which means your team will need: a 1/2, a 3/4 and a 5/6. Matches will be 21 minutes long, each of your three players will be on court for 7 minutes with continuous scoring. A bell will ring on the 7 minute mark for players to switch, but they have to be fast because time doesn’t stop and the next players can start as soon as they are on court, even if the opposition isn't on court yet. It'll be great fun with prizes up for grabs - think 'Best Team Dress Up' and a 'Bill Meek Spirit Award'.

It's a great pleasure to be hosting all our codes' games at Bayleys Athletic Park for our Club Weekend, the exception being netball which will be played at the Wairoa Netball Courts, Standring Park. Check out the schedule below.
